Round wire springs has been the standard since the inception of the AR-15 in the 1950's. Compared to round wire springs made of music wire, stainless steel, or even chrome silicon, our Enhanced Flat Wire Spring places more load on the bolt when it is in battery. This equals slightly increased dwell time and lower bolt velocity. When the bolt is locked open, our Enhanced Flat Wire Spring places the same amount of force on the bolt as traditional round wire springs.
Why does this matter you may ask? Our Enhanced Flat Wire Spring acts like an extra-power round wire spring, yet cycles as easily as a standard buffer spring! The higher preload and lower compressed load also means recoil is smoothed out and bolt bounce is typically eliminated, even when running ultra-lightweight buffers. That annoying spring rattle or "twang" sound is greatly reduced or eliminated, too!
Bring your AR into the 21st century with a Bexar Arms Enhanced Flat Wire Recoil Spring!
Our Flat Wire Recoil Springs may be a tight fit over the shoulder of your buffer. This is completely normal, and it is not necessary for your to force the spring onto the shoulder. Simply install the spring and buffer as is, and after a few shots, the spring will seat itself on the buffer shoulder. Our Flat Wire Recoil Springs are only compatible with Mil-Spec style buffers with slim shanks and pronounced shoulders. Buffers with straight shanks and no shoulder, or a minimal amount of shoulder do not have enough clearance to function correctly with our Flat Wire Recoil Springs.
100% Made in the USA!
A note from Phillip: If your spring still has some rattle or twang once installed, try using some of your favorite automotive grease on the buffer and spring. I personally prefer the full synthetic Lucas X-TRA Heavy Duty "green" type of grease. Your spring should now be completely twang free!

Everything that this spring claims to do is spot on. Running one in my 5.56 and a 300AAC and the twang is completely gone. Now the ejection pattern is in a nice neat pile, unlike before this install. Every build moving forward gets another one of these springs.
Awesome spring, replaced my carbine spring and I haven't had anymore issues with my bolt going into battery. The greased spring is also incredibly quiet, no more twang.
Awesome buffer spring. Greatly reduced felt recoil and has my AR running smooooooth.
Spring works great. I don't really care about noise, but it is noticeably quieter. ID on the spring is slightly undersized so it can be a pain to assemble. Great spring for the money.
Spring works great, no sound even without grease. Used in a pistol build with SBA4. I cannot recommend the seller enough, Phillip is a pleasure to work with and goes above and beyond to ensure his customers are satisfied.
I bought one of these a while ago and finally got out to the range with it. It's much quieter and smoother than my original recoil spring, and even slightly reduced felt recoil. Good purchase.
This spring instantly makes your AR feel so much nicer when you rack the bolt. There's an obvious difference in recoil for the better over a standard carbine spring and once you add some grease, per Phillip's recommendation, it'll feel like magic elves are working inside your buffer tube. I see now that people online hype this spring for darn good reason!
Truth be told, haven't had the chance to shoot with it yet, but simply charging the rifle feels smoother and is noticeably less clangy and noisy. Very happy with my purchase!
I got two, one for a new build and one for my existing .300 blkout pistol. Even without greasing the spring it has made my pistol have more manageable recoil and has reduced the "sproing" sound that was especially prevalent when shooting subs.
